Eligibility:

Bachelor’s Degree in Lib.I.Sc./ Major from any recognized University/Institution with minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade (5% relaxation to SC/ST/OBC – Non Creamy Layer) Or Bachelor’s Degree in any stream with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation to SC/ST/OBC – Non Creamy Layer).

Based on overall performance in last examination followed by Personal Interview.

Programme Overview:

Master of Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc.) programme is designed to enhance thorough understanding of the students about different libraries and librarianship. It makes students ready to take up existing as well as upcoming information challenges. It is a professional postgraduate degree level course that covers the study of advanced principles and practices of Library and Information Science and Library Administration along with the current Information and Communication Technology (ICT) applied to these processes. It mainly includes the study of collection management, information systems and technology, research methods, digital library, digitization, reference and information sources and services, open source software, cataloguing and classification, preservation, reference, statistics, database management, information architecture and knowledge management, etc.
