Eligibility:

Bachelor`s Degree in any branch of Biology (B.Sc. in Botany/Zoology/Bio-Technology/Food Science/Nutrition/Agriculture Sciences etc.), Medical Sciences (MBBS/B.Pharm),Veterinary Sciences(B.V.Sc.)Bio-Tech/Biomedical Eng. (B.E/B.Tech.) or Ayurveda (BAMS) from any recognized University/Institution with minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade ( 5% relaxation to SC/ST/OBC – Non Creamy Layer)

Based on overall performance in last examination followed by Personal Interview.

Programme Overview:

The course was started with a vision to impart in-depth knowledge of biotechnology and train students in developing expertise in biological engineering. The university has recognized the significant role being played by biotechnologists in industrial development and has sought to implement an integrated approach towards education as well as research and development of various bioprocesses. The students are specifically groomed for R&D industry. Multidisciplinary approach is the essence of the course which is achieved by offering open electives. The department has a strong interdisciplinary research and teaching base in biological sciences and engineering which prepares the student for industry as well as research programs.

Career Opportunities:

Postgraduates are hired in industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, Biotechnology, Research Organizations, and FMCG besides colleges and universities as teachers. Some of the career paths are Agricultural Scientist, Bioinformatics specialist, Drug Designer, Environmental/Food Biotechnologist, Genetic Engineer, Pharmacognosist, Proteome and Genome Analyst. Post graduates are also encouraged for taking up research as a career.
