Programme Overview:

M.Sc. (H) Zoology course is aimed at imparting knowledge on the animal kingdom, animal behaviour, classification and their interaction with the environment. Zoological knowledge and theories are also applicable to maintain health and to control the epidemic diseases. Since various types of living organisms are closely associated in a particular environment, the improvement of those animals is one of the major tasks of the zoologists. Application of zoological science in the field of fisheries is well known. It is the study of economic zoology which leads to higher production of food crops and fisheries to meet the challenge of food shortage.

Career Opportunities:

A zoologist has a wide scope as it is a vast field which includes pure biology as well as applied biology like biotechnology. A zoologist can work as Project Assistant in various research oriented programme or bio medical researches, pharmaceuticals, R & D industry. A zoologist can also opt for Research and education in Cancer center, Chemical industry, medical industry, gene therapy. Besides these, a zoologist can also work as Animal & Wildlife educator, Forensic expert, Researcher, Wildlife Biologist as well .They can go for higher studies in reputed Medical institutes and get employed as Research Scientists in the Medical Field and also as Lecturer in colleges and Universities.
